【PCauto】On May 1, Tesla sparked speculation with a tweet asking how long until June. The company’s AI, Grok, responded with “31 days.”

This seemingly mundane interaction has been interpreted as a hint from Tesla regarding the launch date for its Robotaxi service—June 1. While this speculation has not been officially confirmed by Tesla, it marks the first public clue the company has provided about the potential launch timeline for Robotaxi.

Previously, Tesla indicated that it would roll out its Robotaxi service in Austin in June, but the specific date remained unclear.
Tesla CEO Elon Musk recently reiterated his commitment to launching the Robotaxi service during a financial earnings call.
He revealed that he and his team are working at full throttle to ensure the Robotaxi service successfully launches in Austin in June and confidently stated that the Model Y would be the first to achieve unsupervised autonomous driving in the city.
This not only showcases Tesla’s technological prowess but also signals a significant transformation on the horizon for the autonomous driving sector.

Musk further disclosed the initial operational plan for the Robotaxi service. In its early stages, the service will be limited to a specific group of users, meaning the general public may have to wait until late June or July to experience it.
He also mentioned, “We are still discussing the exact number of vehicles that will be available on the first day, likely around 10 to 20, but the production will rapidly expand afterwards. By the end of June or July, everyone will be able to visit Austin and experience Tesla’s autonomous driving firsthand.”

Despite Tesla’s optimistic outlook for the launch of its Robotaxi service and the extensive preparations in terms of technology and operations, there remains a level of uncertainty regarding this date.
The complexities of autonomous driving technology and the various challenges that may arise during actual operations—such as intricate road conditions and the further refinement of regulatory policies—could impact the launch timeline.

Moreover, once the service is operational, Tesla will need to continuously address issues like vehicle safety in diverse scenarios, passenger experience, and potential technical failures.
