Zeekr 9X will be launched in China on August 29 and has attracted attention due to its resemblance to the Cullinan

AshleyAug 28, 2025, 03:49 PM

[PCauto] Geely‘s premium electric vehicle brand Zeekr announced that its first luxury flagship hybrid SUV model, the Zeekr 9X, will officially start pre-sale in China on August 29, 2025.

This full-size luxury SUV has attracted significant market attention for its resemblance to the Rolls-Royce Cullinan in appearance, as well as its luxurious interior design and high level of configuration.

Zeekr 9X Positioned as a Full-Size Luxury SUV

The Zeekr 9X dimensions are 5239/2029/1819mm, with a wheelbase of 3169mm, offering a 2+2+2 six-seat layout, and an optional four-seat executive version.

The exterior design blends classic luxury elements with a modern sense of technology. The front features a vertical chrome grille paired with split LED headlights, resembling Rolls-Royce’s “Parthenon Temple” design, showcasing a powerful visual presence.

The rear is equipped with a ring-shaped through-type taillight strip, inlaid with 42,242 diamond-cut surfaces, with the “ZEEKR” lettering in the center, creating a highly distinctive look.

In terms of details, the new car is equipped with 22-inch mirror-forged wheels, hidden door handles, and a unique split tailgate design. The rear seats can even accommodate passengers to enjoy the scenery.

Zeekr 9X Interior Design Showcasing Ultimate Luxury

The interior extensively uses soft leather materials and features semi-aniline leather seats, decorated with Song Dynasty Guan Kiln texture wood trims and Swarovski crystal buttons.

The second row is equipped with zero-gravity seats, supporting ventilation, heating, massage, and 140° recline adjustment. The headrests have built-in speaker systems.

The intelligent cabin is powered by dual Qualcomm Snapdragon 8295 chips, with a total computing power of 30 TOPS, supporting four-zone voice control and visible-voice interaction.

With a 17.3-inch central control screen, a 21.6-inch curved dashboard screen, and a 15.6-inch ceiling-mounted entertainment screen forming a “technology triangle,” combined with a JBL 22-channel audio system, it provides an immersive experience for passengers.

The power system is one of the biggest highlights of the Zeekr 9X

The new car is equipped with a hybrid power system, which is also Zeekr’s first use of a hybrid system.

The system consists of a 2.0T hybrid-specific engine and three motors. The engine has a thermal efficiency of 46% and a power of 205kW, with the front motor producing 290kW and the rear dual motors generating 370kW. The system’s combined power reaches 1030kW (1381 horsepower) with a peak torque of 1400N·m.

In terms of performance, the Zeekr 9X accelerates from 0-100km/h in just 3.1 seconds, with a top speed of 240km/h. Even in a discharged state, acceleration performance degradation is limited to only 0.2 seconds.

As for range, its pure electric range under the CLTC cycle reaches 380 kilometers, making it the plug-in hybrid SUV with the longest all-electric range globally. The combined range exceeds 1000 kilometers.

The Zeekr 9X adopts a 900V high-voltage platform, supporting 6C ultra-fast charging. Charging from 20% to 80% takes only 9 minutes, which is 1.5 times faster than Tesla‘s V4 Supercharging technology.

The intelligent driving system offers two versions to choose from

  • The H7 version uses a single Nvidia Thor-U chip (700TOPS), supporting highway NOA and automatic parking features.
  • The H9 version is equipped with dual Thor-U chips (1400TOPS) and 5 LiDAR sensors, including 1 long-range 520-line LiDAR. It supports L3-level conditional autonomous driving and can handle complex scenarios such as mechanical parking and perception through heavy rain.

Zeekr 9X Continues the Brand’s High Standards in Safety

In terms of safety performance, the Zeekr 9X adopts a high-strength steel and aluminum alloy body structure, with a usage rate exceeding 91%. Among these, 2000MPa hot-formed steel is used in critical areas such as the A/B pillars. The vehicle’s torsional rigidity reaches 41600N·m/deg, which is the highest level in the industry.

The innovative third energy-absorbing box design can reduce collision intrusion by 20% and has passed super-national standard tests such as 50km/h pole collision and 105km/h rear collision.

The chassis is equipped with a closed dual-chamber air suspension system, dual-valve CCD electromagnetic damping, and a 48V active anti-roll bar, supporting all-terrain adaptive functionality to handle various road conditions such as deserts, snowfields, and altitudes above 5000 meters.

Zeekr 9X to Compete with Mercedes-Benz GLS

Zeekr 9X mainly targets high-end business professionals, family users, and tech enthusiasts, focusing on versatile “home and business” usage scenarios.

The new car directly rivals models like AITO M9, Li L9, and Mercedes-Benz GLS but relies on advantages such as a hybrid system, long-range capability, and fast charging to create differentiated competition.

In terms of price, the base model is expected to be priced in the range of 500,000 to 600,000 yuan (296,000-355,000 MYR).

This price point also marks Zeekr’s official full-scale entry into the high-end market. With pre-sales starting on August 29, will this luxurious SUV, integrating performance, range, intelligence, and safety, be able to challenge the market position of traditional luxury brands?

AVATR 11 Hits Singapore with a Bold Look. Will It Catch On?

LienJul 30, 2025, 05:39 PM

【PCauto】Premium Automobiles has just brought another Chinese EV brand to Singapore. This time it’s Avatr. The first model on offer is the Avatr 11, a sleek, coupe-style electric SUV that stands out with its futuristic look. This is the fourth Chinese brand the dealer has introduced, following Zeekr, Xpeng and Deepal.

Avatr is backed by Changan, CATL and Huawei. It is positioned as a high-end player in the EV market. The Avatr 11 comes in two versions: a standard range model with a 90kWh battery and a long-range option with a 116kWh pack. They deliver up to 475km and 600km of WLTP-rated range. With a wheelbase of 2975mm and coupe-inspired proportions, it is clear the Avatr 11 is not trying to blend in.

A Front End That Doesn’t Play by the Rules

The Avatr 11 has a bold front-end with no traditional grille in sight. Instead, sculpted curves give it a clean, futuristic face. The split F-shaped LED daytime lights are the real attention grabbers. The light bars drop from the hood’s edge to the bumper in a sharp bend that looks like a glowing number “7.” It’s a big shift from the horizontal or vertical light setups we see on most cars.

From the side, the Avatr 11 has a powerful stance that hints at the performance under the hood. The fastback roofline drops sharply behind the C-pillar at a 62-degree angle. It’s a rare shape that blurs the line between an SUV and a coupe, especially among production EVs.

What really stands out is the rear window. Instead of flowing with the sloping roofline, it’s a small, upright piece of glass tucked behind the C-pillar. You don’t see this kind of design on most modern EVs.

An Interior That Surprises with Seamless Screen Control

Thanks to Huawei’s lead in the cabin design, the Avatr 11 features three connected screens, a 15.6-inch central touchscreen, a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster, and a 10.25-inch passenger display. With a simple three-finger swipe, you can move content seamlessly between the screens, almost like working on a multi-monitor setup.

One thing that might take some getting used to is the lack of traditional physical buttons. Instead, you have to rely on the central touchscreen to control driving modes, climate settings, and volume.

The audio system is another highlight. The Avatr 11 packs a 25-speaker Meridian setup, including an Emotional Intelligent Cockpit behind the main screen, 3D surround speakers built into the door panels, near-field speakers in the headrests, and two 18-liter subwoofers in the trunk.

One standout feature is the Emotional Intelligent Cockpit right in the center. This design uses precise calculations of how sound reflects off the windshield to deliver a high-quality mid-range audio source throughout the cabin. Its unique shape also creates enough space behind the center speaker to form a perfect sound reflection zone. This helps produce rich tones, cuts down on unwanted echoes, and keeps the sound clean. So it is not just a cool light-up design, it actually improves audio performance.

Avatr 11 Packs Cutting-Edge Tech and Powerful Performance

The Avatr 11 runs on Huawei’s 800V SiC electric platform, with a working voltage between 570 and 820 volts. It supports 240kW fast chargers but needs to be paired with Huawei’s 600kW liquid-cooled supercharger for full performance. The two versions differ in charging time from 10% to 80%: the standard model takes 15 minutes, while the long-range one takes 20 minutes. That means just five minutes of charging can add around 200 km of range, based on WLTP standards.

The dual-motor all-wheel-drive version uses a 265kW AC asynchronous motor in front and a 230kW permanent magnet synchronous motor at the rear. Together, they produce 495kW of power and 650 Nm of peak torque. This setup pushes the car from 0 to 100 km/h in just 3.98 seconds.

The single-motor rear-wheel-drive model has a 300kW rear-mounted permanent magnet synchronous motor with 370 Nm of peak torque. It accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 6.6 seconds.

Avatr 11 Positioning and Pricing in Singapore

The Avatr 11 is priced at 278,999 SGD for the Standard Range version and 303,999 SGD for the Long Range model, both prices including the Certificate of Entitlement (COE). That’s about 931,000 MYR and 1,013,000 MYR respectively. For context, similar German luxury electric SUVs usually start above 250,000 SGD in Singapore.

Singapore’s EV market is growing fast, but German brands still dominate the luxury segment. With its unique design, Huawei-backed technology, and advanced driver-assist features, the Avatr 11 aims to carve out its own space. However, its pricing is close to established luxury names like the Porsche Macan EV. Whether buyers in Singapore are ready to pay a premium for a new brand remains to be seen.

Proton X70 interior design fully revealed: Suitable for both home and business use

JohnJul 07, 2025, 06:03 PM

【PCauto】The Proton X70 has been catapulted to a popular choice in the mid-size SUV segment, thanks to its modern design, rich features, and affordable pricing. As a SUV in C-segment, the Proton X70 exhibits a modern and sporty exterior while it highlights the “modern technology and driving comfort” in the interior design as its core, hence a high-quality driving and riding experience.

Whether for family or business scenario, the Proton X70 meets a wide range of needs. What’s following is a comprehensive look at this model’s strengths and weaknesses, covering interior design philosophy, material quality, seat comfort, tech features, space layout, safety performance, and user feedback.

Part 1: Interior Design Philosophy

1. Core Design Concept

Guided by the core concept of “modern technology and driving comfort,” the Proton X70 interior is designed to provide a high-quality driving environment. The 12.3-inch fully digital instrument cluster and infotainment display enhance the tech-forward feel and meanwhile facilitate the convenience. High-quality materials and meticulous craftsmanship endow the cabin with a luxurious yet pragmatic atmosphere.

2. Thoughtfully Designed for Diverse Users

The Proton X70 interior was well-designed to fulfill the needs of a variety of consumers. Whether for family or business use, it can provide a comfortable trip for all passengers. The five-seater sedan provides ample space for each passenger, while thoughtful details like the multifunction steering wheel and dual-zone automatic climate control add to convenience and comfort.

3. Variant Differences and Feature Breakdown

Different Proton X70 variants have different interior setups, primarily reflected in seat features, multimedia systems, glass panels, and mirror settings, as listed below:

Seat Functionality: 2024 1.5 TGDi Standard is equipped with manual adjustment for both front driver and passenger seats; 1.5 TGDi Executive is equipped with 6-way power adjustment in driver’s seat while passenger seat remains manual;1.5 TGDi Premium / Premium X is equipped with 6-way power adjustment in driver’s seat, and with 4-way power adjustment in passenger seat. In addition, all variants feature manually adjustable rear seats.

Material and Special Features: In earlier models, the Standard variant came with fabric or basic leather seats.; the Executive variant with leather upholstery; the Premium with Nappa leather.

Multimedia System Differences: The 12.3-inch touchscreen in all four 2024 models is driven by the Atlas 2.0 system, which offers free OTA upgrades for Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. Previous iterations of the GKUI infotainment system had an 8-inch TFT LCD touchscreen and 16GB of storage. These did not support Android Auto or Apple CarPlay, although they did support MirrorLink for Android devices.

Speaker: Six speakers are employed across all variants in the 2024 lineup, yet without any specific brand. The Standard version of the Proton X70 had six speakers, the Executive variant was equipped with eight, and the Premium variation was equipped with nine speakers with a subwoofer in the boot, all driven by a Kenwood sound system.

Glass and Mirror Features: An automatic panoramic sunroof and sunshade, and mirror features are only available on the 2024 1.5 TGDi Premium X model; other variations lack these characteristics.

4. Seat Design and Comfort

Comfort and usefulness were given top priority in the design of the X70 interior seat. Despite the absence of the 7-seater Proton X70 in the 2024 lineup, the 5-seat configuration is more than adequate for the majority of users. Even on lengthy rides, the padding and seat materials of the Proton X70 interior seat are carefully crafted to provide fatigue-free comfort. Driver and passenger comfort is further improved by seat adjustment options, which include both manual and power-adjustable features.

Part 2: Materials and Craftsmanship Compared to Competitors

1. Core Material Highlights

The materials of the Proton X70 2024 interior demonstrate its premium positioning. The premium leather that envelops the steering wheel provides a smooth and pleasant grip. A 12.3-inch fully digital instrument cluster is another component of the cabin that aids reading of driving information in addition to adding to its technological attractiveness.

Higher trim levels, including the 1.5 TGDi Executive and 1.5 TGDi Premium X, have seats with six power-adjustable positions for the driver and four power-adjustable positions for the passenger, which improves comfort. The dashboard’s stitching and soft-touch materials also exhibit Proton’s attention to detail, demonstrating the delicate design of the Proton X70 interior.

2. Segment Competitor Comparison

Compared to other models in the same segment, the 7-seater Proton X70 stands out in terms of interior material quality and workmanship. Take the Toyota Rush as an example: while its interior is functional and straightforward, it falls short in material richness—particularly in areas like the steering wheel and seat upholstery, where the 7-seater Proton X70 offers a noticeably more refined finish.

In addition, the 7-seater Proton X70 has a technological advantage because of its rare multifunction steering wheel and fully digital instrument cluster. In contrast, the Perodua Alza lacks the 7-seater’s premium feel and has more basic interior materials and technological amenities. Overall, the Proton X70 interior leads its class in terms of both material selection and build quality.

These comparisons clearly show that the 7-seater Proton X70 exceeds with its unique exterior design and that it positions itself as a premium option judging from its delicate interior.

Part 3: the Proton X70 interior seat

1. Seat Design Details

The Proton X70 2024 interior excels in both comfort and functionality when it comes to seat design, particularly within its thoughtfully arranged interior layout. A variety of seat configurations are available to meet different user needs.

The Proton X70 2024 interior seat are made from high-quality materials, offering solid support and a comfortable ride. The front seats are especially well-designed: the 1.5 TGDi Standard, Executive, and Premium X variants come equipped with 6-way power-adjustable driver’s seats, while the 1.5 TGDi Premium uses manual seat adjustment.

Even on long-distance trips, the back seats offer enough of head and legroom, guaranteeing comfort. The rear seats may be pulled down in split configurations for more luggage room when needed, demonstrating how well the practicality of the design is taken into account.

Part 4: Instrument Panel and Tech Integration

1. Cabin Tech Layout

The Proton X70 2024 cleverly integrates cabin technology layout reflecting, its current design philosophy. As the focal point of the Proton X70 interior, a 12.3-inch central touchscreen display is standard on all variants. It provides clear images and a variety of multimedia features, which improve the cabin’s overall tech-forward appeal and utility.

The Proton X70 interior design, a blend of the large central touchscreen  with the complete LCD instrument panel, creates a tech-savvy driving environment. The Proton X70 interior seat has been deliberately planned to ensure comfort for all five passengers while also facilitating driving experience.

2. User Experience and Pain Points

In daily use, the Proton X70 interior tech features generally provide a user-friendly experience. The multi-function steering wheel and automatic dual-zone air conditioning enhance driving comfort and ease of control.

However, some consumers have complained that the infotainment system in the Proton X70 2025 interior might react faster. More complicated operations occasionally experience lag, which suggests that system responsiveness can still be enhanced.

Part 5: Cabin Space and Storage Solutions

1. Seating Space Comfort

As a C-segment SUV, the Proton X70 2024 delivers excellent interior space. Its dimensions are as follows:

Length: 4526 mm

Width: 1831 mm

Height: 1694 mm

Wheelbase: 2670 mm

These dimensions translate into generous legroom and headroom for both front and rear passengers, making it well-suited for family use and long-distance travel alike.

The Proton X70 interior features a 5-seat layout with ergonomically designed seats that ensure comfort during long-distance drives. In particular, the Proton X70 2024 interior sees upgrades in seat materials and cushioning, further enhancing passenger experience. Although the 7-seater Proton X70 interior seat configuration is not available, the 5-seat setup is more than enough for most family users.

2. Storage Space Design

Pragmatic storage design is another area where the Proton X70 interior is thrust into the limelight. Passengers may easily store things like phones, wallets, and water bottles in the cabin’s numerous storage compartments, which include seat back pockets, door panel pockets, and center console storage. The glove box and center armrest console of the 2024 Proton X70 have been redesigned to provide more storage space. It is also expected that the Proton X70 2025 interior will be designed with more compartments to meet users’ increasing storage demand.

3. Boot Space and Expandability

With a standard capacity of 515 liters, the boot space of the Proton X70 is also outstanding with the enough capacity of  many luggage or shopping bags.

The rear seats can be folded down in split configurations to increase cargo space for people who require extra space. And you can surprisingly find a hidden storage compartment under the boot floor for additional room to store less frequently used items such as tools or a first aid kit.

The Proton X70 2024 interior also witnesses improvements in the boot opening’s width and height, making it easier to load and unload bulky items. All things considered, the X70’s storage options is a perfect example of pragmatism and space efficiency, fulfilling both short-term and long-term travel requirements.

Part 6: Comprehensive Safety Features

1. Basic Safety

The Proton X70 2024 exceeds in standard safety features across all variants with six airbags, including driver and front passenger airbags, front side airbags, and curtain airbags for both front and rear rows. Apart from these, ISOFIX child seat anchors and an airbag deactivation function are also universal among the lineup for the sake of safety. Additionally, the incorporation of ABS/EBD and Electronic Stability Control (ESC) further enhances its stability when driving, especially under slippery or emergency driving conditions, helping to prevent loss of control.

2.Intelligent Safety Features

Intelligent safety features are another area in which the Proton X70 shines. Advanced features including the Blind Spot Information System, Lane-Keeping Alert, Autonomous Emergency Braking (AEB), and Collision Warning are available on the 1.5 TGDi Executive and 1.5 TGDi Premium X variants. They can monitor the traffic environment in real time and alert drivers to potential risks and even take automatic brakes when necessary, therefore significantly decreasing the accident risk.

3. Driver Assistance Features

Driver assistance applied in the Proton X70 also deserves praises. The 1.5 TGDi Executive and 1.5 TGDi Premium X variants come with Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC), serving to automatically adjust the vehicle’s speed based on the traffic ahead and help to reduce fatigue during long journeys. Additionally, the 1.5 TGDi Standard, Executive, and Premium X variants are equipped with a 360-degree parking camera, making it easier to park in tight spaces. Across all variants, Hill Start Assist and Auto Start/Stop are universally employed to facilitate the driving and fuel efficiency.

Part 7: User Feedback

1. Praise and Criticism

Positive Feedback: The Proton X70 has received various reviews since it was introduced. The Proton X70 interior was lauded for its tech-focused appearance and user-friendly operation, particularly for the 12.3-inch infotainment system and full LCD instrument panel. The materials and workmanship of the Proton X70 2024 interior have also been praised, especially for features like the 6-way and 4-way power seats give pleasant experience for both drivers and passengers.

Negative Feedback: Some users have raised certain criticism. The partially used hard plastic of dashboard and door panel is one frequent complaint. Although it has a reasonable price and long-endurance, the tactile sensation is a little ordinary, and it may look less elegant in direct sunshine. Furthermore, some owners have complained that new car leather seats smell slightly in hot weather, but this smell normally goes away after two to three weeks of using. The way the storage compartments are arranged is also the target, for instance, the front cup holders’ placement might slightly obstruct gear shifting.

2. Driving Experience

In terms of real-world performance, the Proton X70 has received plenty of rave reviews. Thanks to the amazing combination of its 1.5L turbocharged engine and 7-speed dual-clutch transmission (DCT) delivers stable power and solid fuel efficiency. Many drivers have highlighted the excellent ride comfort improved by the MacPherson Independent Suspension and Multi-Link Independent Suspension, especially on rough or uneven roads.

3. Price and Value

Regarding the Proton X70 interior price, it’s a consensus that the vehicle delivers excellent value for money. Starting at RM 98,800, the X70 provides generous features and interior space. With features like the 360-degree parking camera and power panoramic sunroof, the Premium X model is particularly regarded as exceptional. Although some people think some specifics may yet be improved, generally the price has recognized as worthy of specs.

Part 8: Conclusion and Buying Guide

Above all, the Proton X70 is a formidable competitor in the C-segment SUV market, as evidence by its intelligent technology, roomy layout, safety measures, and interior design demonstrate remarkable competitiveness. The infotainment display and 12.3-inch full LCD instrument panel add to the cabin’s tech-forward vibe, while the premium materials and exquisite craftsmanship create a luxurious yet functional feeling. In addition, the chairs are friendly to both the driver and passenger. A 360-degree parking camera and adaptive cruise control are just two of the many clever technological innovations that the Proton X70 has to offer, which further improves driving safety and convenience.

Buying Recommendations:

For family users: If you are looking for a spacious and well-equipped family SUV, the 5-seater variant, such as the 1.5 TGDi Executive, is a perfect choice. Its comfortable seating and generous storage space are well-suited for both daily commutes and long-distance trips.

For tech-focused drivers: If advanced features are your priority, the 1.5 TGDi Premium X is highly recommended. With upgrades such as the full LCD instrument panel, adaptive cruise control, and 360-degree camera system, it delivers a smarter driving experience.

For value-conscious buyers: The 1.5 TGDi Premium variant offers a well-balanced package with essential safety and comfort features. While it lacks some of the advanced specs, it remains a pragmatic and cost-effective solution for everyday use.

Overall, the Proton X70 is a well-rounded SUV that combines practicality, advanced technology, and great value for money. Whether you’re a family user or a business professional, there’s a variant that fits your needs. If you’re in the market for a mid-size SUV, the Proton X70 is definitely worth considering.
