121,500 Land Rover Range Rovers, Range Rover Sports Recalled for Suspension Arms

Land Rover is recalling more than 121,500 examples of its Range Rover and Range Rover Sport SUVs over an issue with the front suspension arm.

Affected vehicles include model-year 2014-17 Range Rovers and Range Rover Sports. The issue is with the front suspension upper knuckle joint, which may crack and cause the suspension arm to detach. A detached suspension arm can cause a loss of vehicle handling and control, increasing the risk of a crash.

To resolve the issue, dealers will inspect the front suspension knuckles and install a retaining bracket or replace the knuckle, as necessary, for free. The brand will notify owners Sept. 30, but those with further questions can contact Land Rover at 800-637-6837 (its numbers for this recall are D019, N759, D041 and D027), call the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration’s vehicle safety hotline at 888-327-4236, or visit its website to check your vehicle identification number and learn more. This recall expands and replaces previous NHTSA recall number 24V840.
