Toyota Sequoia ushers in an annual facelift, with adjustments to both exterior and interior, while prices have increased.

【PCauto】Toyota has recently launched the 2026 model of its full-size SUV, the Sequoia. As the fourth-year model based on the TNGA-F platform, the Toyota Sequoia 2026 maintains its core mechanical standards while focusing on targeted upgrades to interior materials and comfort features. Additionally, the entire lineup sees a price increase.

The 2026 Sequoia continues to feature the i-Force Max hybrid system

This 3.4-liter twin-turbo V6 engine delivers 437 horsepower and 583 pound-feet of torque. The rear-wheel-drive base model retains a towing capacity of approximately 4.3 tons, while the four-wheel-drive variant shows slightly reduced figures due to the additional equipment weight. It is worth noting that while this system offers robust performance, fuel efficiency is not its primary focus.

Standard electric-folding third-row seats across all trims

The most notable upgrade in this revision is the addition of electric-folding third-row seats standard on all trims. This feature significantly enhances cargo convenience, eliminating the need for users to manually fold and unfold the heavy rear seats.

In the 1794, Platinum, and top-tier Capstone trims, the front seats have been upgraded to 10-way power-adjustable massage seats, supporting upper body/lower body zoned massage functions during driving or parking.

The Limited trim has replaced the SofTex synthetic leather material with new black (with white stitching) and gray (with black stitching) full leather seats. The 2WD variant price has been adjusted from $68,825 to $69,795 (330,000 Malaysian Ringgit), an increase of $970 (4,559 Malaysian Ringgit).

The top-tier Capstone trim now features brand-new Shale Premium textured leather seats, and the interior trim has been updated from brown to gray walnut wood material. Its price has been slightly adjusted from $83,915 to $84,435 (397,000 Malaysian Ringgit), with the increase controlled at $520 (2,444 Malaysian Ringgit).

TRD Pro adds exclusive color option–the Wave Maker Blue

The TRD Pro variant, designed for off-road enthusiasts, introduces an exclusive Wave Maker Blue paint, continuing Toyota’s tradition of launching limited-edition colors for the TRD Pro series (including 4Runner/Tacoma/Tundra) each year. This trim continues to come standard with an electronic rear differential lock and a multi-terrain monitoring system, starting at $80,765 (379,000 Malaysian Ringgit).

2026 Toyota Sequoia Price Increase

The entry-level SR5 2WD trim starts at $66,120 (310,000 Malaysian Ringgit), an increase of $1,600 (7,520 Malaysian Ringgit) compared to the 2025 model, with the main additional feature being an electric-folding third-row seat. The four-wheel-drive system remains a $3,000 (approximately 14,000 Malaysian Ringgit) optional upgrade, but the TRD Pro/1794/Capstone trims make it standard.

Except for the SR5 version, the price increase for other models is controlled between $465 and $970 (approximately 2,185-4,559 MYR). For example, Carscoops reported the SR5 base price as $64,025, while Cars.com listed the full price including shipping as $66,120.

As a representative of American full-size SUVs, the Sequoia continues to maintain its competitiveness among rivals like the Chevrolet Suburban and Ford Expedition with its three-row seating layout, powerful towing capability, and Texas manufacturing lineage. Although this update does not involve mechanical innovations, it enhances the appeal to two core customer bases—family users and off-road enthusiasts—through improved ride quality and usability.
