2025 Rolls-Royce Ghost Series II Is Somehow Even Fancier Than Before

Rolls-Royce makes the refreshed Ghost even more opulent with new interior materials, ornamentation, and more customizability.

While Rolls-Royce has entered both the world of SUVs with the Cullinan and EVs with the Spectre, the British automaker still values the large luxury sedans upon which it built its reputation. Now, Rolls-Royce is introducing the 2025 Ghost Series II, a refinement of the second-generation sedan launched in 2021 with a slightly tweaked design, a more ornate interior, and even more ways to customize the design.

  • The 2025 Rolls-Royce Ghost Series II arrives with restyled headlights and taillights.
  • Inside, the Ghost features new materials such as an open-pore Grey Stained Ash and a rayon fabric made from bamboo called Duality Twill.
  • The twin-turbocharged V-12 engine carries over unchanged, still producing 563 horsepower.

The visual changes are subtle, with slimmer headlights that have an upward curvature to the bottom edge instead of the blunter rectangular look of the outgoing car. The lower bumper has been toned down too, with smaller vents and two flowing chrome elements, while new taillights are inspired by the Spectre. The Ghost is also offered with two new 22-inch, nine-spoke wheel designs.

Rolls-Royce cooked up a new exterior paint color called Mustique Blue (pictured at the top). The metallic look is meant to emulate the Caribbean island of the same name, which belongs to the nation of St. Vincent and the Grenadines. Rolls-Royce mixed in glass and mica flakes to achieve a shimmer effect that is supposed to look like sunlight reflecting on the sea. A similar color appeared on a 1929 Phantom II Continental prototype, which became Henry Royce’s personal car. The new hue also serves as an homage to that Phantom, which was one of the first cars to use pearlescent paint, according to Rolls-Royce.

Inside, the Ghost gains Rolls-Royce’s latest Spirit infotainment system, displayed on a central screen housed behind a glass panel stretching the width of the dashboard. The “Illuminated Fascia” on the passenger’s side has been redesigned to emulate “time-lapse celestial photography,” although buyers can pay extra through the Bespoke program for their own stylistic element. Bespoke also now allows owners to select the color of the digital instrument gauges to match the car’s interior or exterior color palette. A new “clock cabinet” in the dashboard houses both an analog clock and an illuminated stainless-steel Spirit of Ecstasy ornament.

For the Series II, rear passengers can now link up to two devices to the rear screens and stream content independently on each. The rear screens have a new user interface to control functions such as entertainment, massage seats, and heated and ventilated seat functions. The Wi-Fi hotspot has also been upgraded, and USB-C charging ports are found in the center console, while the 18-speaker sound system has been beefed up with a new 1400-watt amplifier.

The Series II introduces a new open-pore wood trim called Grey Stained Ash, which includes microscopic metallic particles for a sparkling look and a new rayon fabric made from bamboo called Duality Twill. The latter is embossed with a design meant to echo the interlinked R badge that represents Rolls-Royce’s founders’ names. Duality Twill is offered in three colors—Lilac, Chocolate, and Black—with 51 different colors for the stitching. The Ghost also offers an upholstery look called Placed Perforation that uses 107,000 perforations in the seats to emulate the shapes of clouds over Rolls-Royce’s Goodwood headquarters.

Under the hood, the 6.7-liter twin-turbocharged V-12 is unchanged, continuing to send 563 horsepower through an eight-speed automatic gearbox to all four wheels. A new Satellite Aided Transmission system uses GPS data to decide on the ideal gear to be engaged when exiting a corner based on the curvature of the turn. This works in conjunction with Rolls-Royce’s Flagbearer system that scans the road ahead with cameras to keep the suspension as smooth as possible.

The Extended long-wheelbase model returns for 2025. There’s no word yet on the price of the new Rolls-Royce Ghost Series II, but it will presumedly cost several thousands of dollars more than the 2024 car’s $354,750 starting price.
