On Monday, the Abu Dhabi Investment Office (ADIO) launched a major economic program to establish an end-to-end automotive ecosystem. Multi-billion-dollar investments from globally renowned leaders back the program. It aims to transform Abu Dhabi into the region’s smart automotive manufacturing and assembly, R&D, restoration, actions, and luxury automobile hub.

The announcement occurred during the Make It in the Emirates Forum 2025 (MIITE). The program will add AED100 billion to Abu Dhabi’s GDP by 2045, bring AED8 billion in FDI, and create over 7,000 high-skilled jobs.
The participation from Tier 1 and 2 suppliers and premium OEMs, along with the addition of advanced R&D and engineering centers, ensures that the complete value chain, which includes design, manufacturing, and aftersales, has a substantial economic impact and long-term industrial competitiveness.
Besides manufacturing, the program also focuses on building a holistic ecosystem that includes activations, annual product launches, motorsport, industry events, luxury car restoration, and premium or exclusive vehicle auctions, all in a streamlined way.

ADIO’s recent automotive program also focuses on talent development, including partnerships with top universities. ADIO has also created the region’s first automotive AI curriculum focused on product design. It blends cutting-edge research, artificial intelligence, training, and international placements, making local talent part of the global mobility value chain.
Over 10 commercial and investment agreements have already been announced during the MIITE Forum, highlighting Abu Dhabi’s commitment to its flagship automotive program. Globally renowned automobile manufacturers, including Genesis and ROX Motors, have announced their new manufacturing agreements with W Motors in Abu Dhabi, making the Emirate a production hub for regional and international markets.
AIH Group, one of the largest automotive assembly providers, has embedded itself in the local manufacturing landscape as the technical lead for high-volume vehicle production. These small steps, accompanied by a robust network of local supply chain partnerships, will strengthen every stage of automotive production. It comprises lightweight materials through Borouge, battery systems from Enercap, and aluminum components from Automotive Precision Technology (APT), making a complete vehicle manufacturing ecosystem.
Abu Dhabi’s recent announcement of launching a multi-billion dirham program to set up an end-to-end automotive ecosystem, which includes manufacturing to R&D, restoration, and luxury automobile auctions, will shape the region’s automotive future and create ample opportunities for the global automotive OEMs and local suppliers.
