Apple has officially launched the next generation version of its in-car iPhone interface called Apple CarPlay Ultra, and it debuted in the market with Aston Martin. Starting from the US and Canada, the Apple CarPlay Ultra will take smartphone connectivity to the next level as it includes full-screen visuals across the display, including an infotainment system and digital instrument cluster.

Aston Martin has become the first automaker to offer CarPlay Ultra in its new vehicles, while other brands like Hyundai, Kia, and Genesis have also confirmed to roll out. Apple has further confirmed that more automakers will adopt Apple’s new generation interface next year, expecting a Middle East rollout in this phase.
What’s New in Apple CarPlay Ultra?
Built on existing Apple CarPlay, it offers a fully immersive interface that integrates properly with the car’s system. It means the driver will see iPhone-powered content like Maps, Music, Messages, and even real-time vehicle statistics, not just on the central infotainment screen but also on the instrument cluster and climate control panel.

With Apple’s sleek user interface design, the driver can easily view gauges like speed, RPM, fuel level, temperature, and even driver assist features. There is still an option to access control functions through conventional buttons, touchscreens, or Siri voice command feature. However, the specific features like radio, AC, and performance settings are managed through CarPlay Ultra.

New Aston Martin vehicles in the US and Canada are equipped with Apple CarPlay Ultra. Additionally, the automaker will run software updates for existing cars with Aston Martin’s new-generation infotainment system in the coming weeks. The global rollout for the latest Apple UI is planned over the next 12 months, likely to include the GCC region.
To benefit from Apple CarPlay Ultra, customers must have an iPhone 12 or newer model running on iOS 18.5 or the latest versions.
Apple CarPlay Ultra Launch in the Middle East
CarPlay is already well adopted across the Middle East and GCC regions. With a luxury and exclusive car-focused market, the new version of Apple CarPlay is expected to launch in the region by next year.
Brands like Hyundai, Kia, and Genesis have already confirmed to roll out CarPlay Ultra in their vehicles. For tech-savvy markets like the UAE and Saudi Arabia, the launch of Apple CarPlay Ultra is expected sooner than in other regions in the Middle East.
