Nissan has revealed its global Re:Nissan turnaround strategy, a major step to restore its profitability and operational efficiency by FY26. As part of this bold decision and amid a restructuring plan under new leadership, Nissan is focusing on the Middle East, putting it in the list of six key global markets alongside the US, Japan, China, Europe, and Mexico. For Middle East customers, the brand has specifically focused on offering more products in the future to meet the high demand for large SUVs. The brand also aims to keep the new models highly competitive, sourcing them through Nissan’s expanded manufacturing and supplier partnership, including from China.

SUVs to Play Key Role in Nissan’s Revival Plan
Nissan Patrol plays a major role in the brand’s success in the Middle East. Under Re:Nissan, the automaker is expected to extend its SUV lineup further, ensuring the future of SUV offerings remains relevant and regionally tailored. It has hinted at exploring some China-built models to enhance customer value and diversify its offerings. This approach can enable the brand to introduce new nameplates with aggressive pricing while maintaining its brand quality expectations.
Faster Turnaround & Continuous Innovation
The global transformation strategy also focuses on reducing the number of platforms from 13 to 7 by 2035 and reducing part complexity by 70%; all these efforts would help the brand to speed up the development process and focus more on innovative production methods. If the automaker successfully achieves this milestone, it can develop new family models in about 30 months, meaning fresher products can arrive quickly in the market. Upcoming products like the next-generation Skyline, the new global C-segment SUV, and the new INFINITI compact SUV can benefit from this plan.
Increasing Regional Presence through Local Partnerships
Nissan has announced plans to cut 20,000 jobs and reduce its manufacturing footprint from 17 to just 10 plants globally. The brand is also focusing more on partnerships to expand its product range. Its years-old collaboration with brands like Renault, Mitsubishi, and Honda will help it bring new EVs and intelligent driving tech, and some of these can reach the Middle East under the Nissan or INFINITI banner.
